Lectio: Jn 6.45-51

Meditatio: “I am the living bread that came down from heaven; whoever eats this bread will live forever: and the bread. That I will give is my  flesh for the , life of the world." Jn 6.51

Oratio: "O God, what a gift Your Son gave us!

I remember Your Son gave and continues to give to who believe, His very self in the Eucharist. May I be always graced with a strong faith, and partake frequently of the Eucharist.

God is saying to you

Operatio: “I....living bread...eats...live forever." Jesus is the bread of life and He gives us life everlasting if we believe and partake of the Eucharist. That is our charge. Seek the grace to respond always.

Meditatio: “For this is the will of my heavenly Father, that everyone who sees the son and believes in him may have eternal life, and I shall raise him [on] the last day.” Jn 6.40

Oratio: "O God, How much You give for so little on our part!         

I remember Your Son declared that all those who believe in Him will have eternal life - everlasting life in return for faith! Seek the grace of faith and live it.

God is saying to you

Operatio: “believes....eternal life”; what an exchange; eternal life for mortal life is offered to us by Jesus if we believe in Him; pray for an active and lasting belief in Jesus and live the life He wants - a life of selfless love.

Meditatio: “Jesus said to them, I am the bread of life; whoever comes to me, will never hunger; whoever believes in me will never thirst’. ” Jn 6.35

Oratio: "O God, How well You provide for us in this life!            

I remember Your Son declared that He is the very bread of life and He would sustain us forever if we simply put our faith in Him! So much for so little on our part.

Operatio: “bread of life”; Jesus reveals that He is the very source of eternal life and will sustain us if we believe in Him. In prayer seek a strong faith and reflect that faith in words and deeds that Jesus desires of me.

Meditatio: “Jesus answered and said to them, ‘This is the work of God, that you believe in the one he sent’.” Jn 629

Oratio: "O God, You have made it so easy to know what You want of us.

I remember You sent Your Son and He told us that believing in Him is how we do Your work. Believing means to not only knowing Jesus but to put into practice His message - the Great Law of Love. Seek the grace to have an active faith in Jesus for He is the way to eternal life.

God is saying to you

Operatio: “work..God....believe ...one...sent”; Jesus reveals the Father and what the Father wants of us and He told us that all of the prophets and the law are summarized in the great law of love. And so if we love, we will have an active belief in Jesus and we will be doing what God wants us. In prayer seek the grace to do so.

Lectio:   Lk 24.13-35                                                                           

Meditatio: “And it happened that, while he was with them at table, he took bread, said the blessing, broke it, and gave it to them. With that their eyes were opened and they recognized him, but he vanished from their sight.” Lk 24.30-31

Oratio: "O God, what a marvelous thing Your Son did for the two disciples on the road to Emmaus that first Easter Sunday by giving them Eucharist and allowing them to recognize Him in the breaking of the bread.

I remember that the actions which Your Son performed at Emmaus are the same actions which Your priest do every day for us when the celebrate the Mass and so that Your Son will again be present in a real and personal way for us when we receive You in the Eucharist. In prayer seek the grace to always recognize Jesus in the breaking of the Bread for He so much wants to be with us, to nourish us and to help us on the journey to heaven.

God is saying to you

Operatio: “took bread...blessing, broke...gave”; these are the actions a priest performs every day in celebrating Eucharist and he does so for that is what Jesus commanded His priests to do at the Last Supper  so that the faithful would know that Jesus is present to them. In prayer seek the grace to receive the Eucharist in a worthy manner so that Jesus in coming to me, will have the benefit He wants for me - eternal life with the Trinity and all the saints.

Meditatio: “Jesus said to him, ‘I am the way, the truth and the life, No one comes to the Father except through me’.”Jn 14.6    

Oratio: "O God, how kind of You to provide us a sure way of coming to You.

I remember at the Last Supper Jesus told His disciples that He is the way, the truth and the life and one comes to the Father except through  Him. As a result, we no longer have to wonder how and what and who will bring us to You. For Jesus is the answer. In prayer may I always live in accord with the truths revealed by Jesus; and with Your grace one day I will come to You.

Contemplatio: spend some time in silence and meditate on the selected passage and hear what.
God is saying to you

Operatio: “way...truth...life”; these three attributes of Jesus are so important for us for without a way, there is no going; without the truth, there is no knowing; and without life, there is no living. How wonderful what Jesus is for us; in prayer seek to follow Jesus in all undertakings and no matter what happens in the interim, Jesus will bring us to His home, our hearts deepest longing.

Meditatio: “Then Jesus took the loaves, gave thanks, and distributed them to those who were reclining, and also as much at they wanted.”Jn 6.11

Oratio: "O God, how generous and compassionate You are for we see it manifested in Your Son.

I remember when Jesus was saw a large crowd following Him, He knew they were hungry. He took what was there, five loaves and two fish, gave thanks and distributed to them and fed in the process 5,000 men. The fragments of the bread that were not eaten filled 12 baskets.  What a showing of how generous Jesus was - not only what they needed but so much more. Seek the grace to have a generous spirit.

and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever.

Contemplatio: spend some time in silence and meditate on the selected passage and hear what.
God is saying to you

Operatio: “Jesus...took bread... thanks..., distributed”; these actions of Jesus are repeated every day in the Mass and Jesus gives us His very self in the consecrated bread - how awesome! How generous of Jesus to continue to feed all who come to Him with the bread of heaven. In prayer seek to always approach Eucharist in a humble and worthy way and seek the grace to be Eucharist to others for that is how Jesus wants to be manifested to all.
