Lectio: Lk 1.26-38
Meditatio: “...for nothing will be impossible for God’.” LK 1.37
Oratio: "O God, You are all powerful and You use Your power for our benefit.
I remember You brought about a miraculous conception of Your Son by having Your Spirit overshadow Mary, a virgin, so her Son would be truly the Son of God who alone could redeem us. How spectacular! How gracious! How wonderful for us!
Grant that I may always remember that You are all-powerful and all-loving and that I am a great beneficiary of Your power and Your love.
I ask this of You, who lives and reigns with Jesus and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever.
Amen.”
Contemplatio: Keep silence and remain in recollection for a few minutes.
Operatio: Reflect on the fact that God is all-powerful and all-loving and identify when He recently showed forth His power and His Love to me and through whom?

- I was ordained for the Archdiocese of Philadelphia on May 15, 1993. I am a widower with 8 children and 24 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. On July 1, 2014 I began my residence at St Mathew Parish in Philadelphia, PA. My last assignment was pastor of St.Elizabeth Ann Seton in Bensalem, PA since November of 1999. I have created this Blog in response to Pope Benedict XVI's recommendation that Priest use modern means of communications to reach out to people with the Good News. I publish daily my Lectio Divina efforts via a group email. I will publish such efforts from time to time to this site as well as other pertinent info about the Good News of Jesus Christ or issues which are contrary to the Good News. What is Lectio Divina? Lectio Divina is the Study of and Meditation on Sacred Scripture. The steps include: Reading (Lectio),- Pondering (Meditatio); Praying (Oratio) and Silence(Contemplatio). I use the daily Lectionary as the source of readings.
