Lectio: Jn 20.19-23
Meditatio: “[Jesus] said to them again, ‘Peace be with you. As the Father has sent me, so I send you’ And he when he said this, he breathed on them and said to them, ‘Receive the holy Spirit.’.” Jn 20.21-22
Oratio: O God, what a gift Your Son gave to us - Yours and His Spirit!
I remember Jesus gave the Spirit to His apostles that first Easter Sunday evening and with that gift the gifts of peace and the power to forgive sins - what a triple header! In prayer seek to be open to the Spirit in our daily lives and be an instrument of His peace and forgiveness to others.
I ask this and all things in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with You
and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever.
Contemplatio: spend some time in silence and meditate on the selected passage and hear what
God is saying to you.
Operatio: reflect: "Peace...receive...Spirit; The Spirit was first given to Jesus’ disciples that first Easter Sunday; and through their successors, the Spirit has been given to all His followers down through the ages and we celebrated and give a special thankst on Pentecost. In prayer may we always be open to the promptings of the Spirit in our lives.
Tomorrow's reading: Mt 5.1-12
