5.23.15
Lectio: Jn 20.19-23
Meditatio: "Receive the Holy Spirit. Whose sins, you forgive are forgiven them, and whose sins you retain they are retained.” Jn 20.22b-23
Oratio: O God, You know are needs and that we are sinners.
I remember Jesus provided a remedy for us when He gave the Holy Spirit to His church for the forgiveness of sins. In prayer thank God for giving us a sure remedy for our sins and for the grace to make firm amendment when do have the misfortune to sin.
I ask this and all things in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with You
and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever.
Contemplatio: spend some time in silence and meditate on the selected passage and hear what God is saying to you.
Operatio: reflect:"Holy Spirit....sins...forgive”; The Holy Spirit was Jesus’ parting gift to His disciples; and we have been richly blest through their successors with the sacrament of penance. Seek the grace of a contrite heart and to always turn back to the Lord as soon as you come to your senses following a sinful act. Get to confession if it is a major sin, so that you know that your sin is forgiving for Jesus so much wants us to be at peace with ourselves and with each other.
