Lectio: Jn 2.13-22
Meditatio: “His disciples recalled the words of scripture,’Zeal for your house will consume me’.”
Jn 2.17
Oratio: O God, Your Son cleansed Your Temple of the money changer and the animal and dove sellers for they were making a market place out of Your House of Worship. Pray that I may have zeal for Your Church and always respect it and maintain proper decorum in it for that is only right and just.
I ask this and all things in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with You
and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever.
Contemplatio: spend some time in silence & meditate on the selected passage and hear what God speaks to you,
Operatio: reflect: "Zeal...consume me”; Jesus drove out of the Temple all those who were making a market place out it and rightly did He do so. Seek the grace to do my part to uphold the atmosphere of the church for what it should be, a place of prayer and worship and not a place for money makers, for that is the best way to please God.
