Lectio: Mt 17.1-9

“And he [Jesus] was transfigured before them; his face shone like the sun and his clothes became white as light.” Mt 17.2

“ O God, You know how slow we are to believe and so You did marvelous things for Jesus’ first disciples.

I remember on one occasion Jesus was transfigured before his three closest disciples and You again proclaimed Jesus Your son - what a WOW experience for them.

Grant that I may be ever grateful for this and the many miracles for the support they give to my faith.

I ask this of You who lives and reigns with Jesus and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever. Amen.

Operatio: Reflect on the Transfiguration - Sheer brightness and light - for the three disciples it eliminated any shadow of doubt they had about Jesus. In prayer thank God for granting this other-world experience to them and for the evangelists recording this event for the benefit of all believers who came after them.
