Lectio: Mt 22.1-14
“The kingdom of Heaven may be likened to a king who gave a wedding banquet for his son.” Mt 22.2
“ O God, You have prepared a glorious and permanent place for us.
I remember Jesus compared heaven to a wedding banquet given by a king for his son. We can only imagine what a great, joyous and happy event such a wedding feast would be - and imagine being a guest there!
Grant that I may do all that I can do to be in a position to accept the invitation to the heavenly wedding banquet.
I ask this of You who lives and reigns with Jesus and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever. Amen.
Operatio: Reflect on what is involved in accepting the invite to the heavenly banquet - need to have a wedding garment which means need to have a conversion to God’s ways and a heart filled with love for others for these are the clothe out of which the wedding garment is made.
Tomorrow’s readings: Mt 22.34-40
