12.16.12
Lectio: Jer 23.5-8
Meditatio: "Behold, the days are coming, says the Lord, when I will raise up a righteous shoot to David." Jer 23.5a
Oratio: "O God, You did not abandon Your chosen people even though they abandoned You for other gods.
I remember your prophet, Jeremiah, proclaimed that You would raise up the Messiah from the House of David, for their good and for the good of all peoples.
Grant that I may never take Your Son for granted but give Him the duty and love He rightly deserves.
I ask these and all things through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with the Father and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever.
Contemplatio: Keep silence and remain in recollection for a few minutes.
Operatio: reflect on "righteous": to be in right relationship with God, self and others; in prayer seek the grace to live the life to which Jesus calls us; a life of selfless love.
