Lectio: Lk 12.32-48
Meditatio: “Do not be afraid any longer, little flock, for your Father is pleased to give you the kingdom.” Lk 12.32
Oratio: O God, You do not want us to live in fear but in calm and openness to life.
I remember Jesus declared that we should not live in fear for we are Your little flock and You have given us the kingdom!
Grant that I may always remember that we are Yours and to let nothing afright us for all things are changing but You only are changeless ( St. Theresa)and we are Yours!
I ask all these things through Jesus Christ who lives and reigns with You, and the Holy Spirit. One God, forever and ever.
Contemplatio: spend some time in silence and meditate on the selected passage and hear what God is saying to you.
Operatio: reflect on "afraid...little flock”; fear is an emotion; it comes upon us when we feel we are in danger - real or imaginary danger; but the only lasting danger we face is the loss of our immortal souls; but if we remember we are God’s children and have recourse to Him, we will be part of His kingdom forever. In prayer ask the grace to always live as a child of God and we will not have to fear the loss of our soul..
