Lectio:::Mk 5.21-43
Meditatio: "and pleaded earnestly with him [Jesus], saying, ‘My daughter is at the point of death,. Please come and lay your hands on her that she may get well and live’." Mk 5.23
Oratio: "O God, You know the power of touch and You have made it a sign of Your sacrament of healing.
I remember Jesus was asked by Jairus to lay His hands upon his daughter that she might live; and He did saying: ‘Talitha koum!’ And the girl was brought back to life! Wow!
Grant that I may always realize the power of touch and use it sacramentally when someone is sick; and use it to comfort those who are in need.
I ask these and all things through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with the
Father and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever.
Contemplatio: Keep silence and remain in recollection for a few minutes.
Operatio: reflect on "lay your hand"; touch another; part of the sacrament of the sick; in prayer ask for the grace to readily offer the sacrament of the sick to those in need; and to realize the power of human touch and use it appropriately as situations of comfort arise.
