6.10.13:  Mt 5:13-16

Meditatio:" You are the salt of the earth...You are the light of the world." Mt 13a,14a

Oratio: " O God, You know our need for guidance.

I remember Your Son in His Sermon on the Mount called on His followers to be salt and light for others.

Grant that I may do as Jesus instructed and live my life in such a way that it will be a source of encouragement for others.

I ask these and all things through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with the Father and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever.

Contemplatio: Keep silence and remain in recollection for a few minutes.


Operatio: "reflect on the similes of 'salt' and 'light';  salt-a source of flavor; light - needed to see;  as disciples of Jesus we are called upon to be a source that shows forth Jesus alive in our hearts and at work through us for the good if others; in prayer seek the grace to not only reflect Jesus in our lives but to allow Him to use us as His instrument.
