6/06/13: Lk 15.3-7
Meditatio: "I tell you, in just the same way there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous people who have no need for repentance.”
Lk 15.7
Oratio: "O God, how You love each and every one of us!
I remember Your Son called You the Good Shepherd and as a Good Shepherd You will always search and find the stray and bring them back to You.
Grant that I may be ever mindful of my weaknesses and be always mindful and open to You and Your care for me.
I ask these and all things through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with the Father and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever.
Contemplatio: Keep silence and remain in recollection for a few minutes.
Operatio: reflect on "joy...one sinner...than ninety-nine”; this parable is not about the 99 but about the one who strayed; it tells of just how much God loves each and every one of us - no matter how far we stray from the right path; it is a source of great comfort for each and every one of us knowing that when we are found not only it is a great joy for us but a great joy for God.
