Meditatio: “The king was distressed, but because of his oaths and the guests who were present, her ordered that it be given.” Mt 14.9

I ask this and all things in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with You.
and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever.
Contemplatio: spend some time in silence & meditate on the selected passage and hear what God speaks to you,

Herod had John the Baptist beheaded because he made an oath to Herodias’ daughter. Seek the grace to discern what you are swearing to and keep your oaths which are properly made.

Oratio: O God, Your Son wanted the people to think about what He was saying and so He used a wonderful teaching technique - telling parables for they are teaching stories which cause people to think and look for their meaning in the underlying point and not in the surface line of the story. Pray that I may be always inquisitive as to what Jesus is telling me in the Bible and to readily put it into practice or into my beliefs
