 Lectio: Mt 9.14-17

Meditatio: “Jesus answered,’Can the wedding guests mourn, as long as the bridegroom is with them? The days will come when the b bridegroom is taken away from them, and they will fast.” Mt .15

Oratio: O God, one of the purposes for fasting was to hasten the coming of the Messiah. Since Jesus declared Himself the Messiah, it would be inappropriate for them to fast. Pray that your fasting will hasten Jesus taking possession of your heart and you will be greatly blest

I ask this and all things in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with You
and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever.

Contemplatio: spend some time in silence & meditate on the selected passage and hear what  God is saying to you.

Operatio: reflect: wedding guests.mourn...bridegroom...with them”; Jesus made it cleat in His response to His critiques about fasting, that it would be inappropriate as long as He was with them. Seek the grace to fast and abstain on the days appointed for that will be pleading to God.
