Lectio: Mt 7.21, 24-27

Meditatio: “And everyone who listens to these words of mine and act on them will be like a wise man who built his house on rock.” Mt 7.24

Oratio: "O God, You graciously gave us the way to eternal life and happiness.

I remember Jesus told His followers to listen and act on His words and they will enter eternal life with Him.

Grant that I may make Jesus’ words the foundation of my life and I will one day come to eternal life and I will enter it and be with Him forever.

I ask this of You, who lives and reigns with Jesus and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever.
Amen.”

Contemplatio: Keep silence and remain in recollection for a few minutes.

Operatio: Reflect on “rock, sand” - listening; ignoring; acting; doing as I please; solid, fragile; life, death. Pray for the grace to be always open to Jesus’s words and act upon them for therein lies life.

Meditatio: “At once they left their nets and followed him.” Mt 4.20

Oratio: "O God, You invite all to follow Your way and some as their daily work to lead others to You.

I remember Jesus first invited Peter and Andrew to follow Him and they immediately did and left their former daily work to do so to help Him in His daily work.
Grant that I may always answer Jesus’ call to follow Him and especially in serving Him by serving the needs of those need to know of His love for them.

I ask this of You, who lives and reigns with Jesus and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever.
Amen.”

Contemplatio: Keep silence and remain in recollection for a few minutes.

Operatio: Reflect on “following Jesus” - His wants and not my wants; His will not mine wherever, whomever and whenever. Pray for the grace to always hear and heed His call and persevere in answering Him day by day.

Meditatio: “At that very moment, he rejoiced [in] the the holy Spirit and said, ‘I give you praise, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, for although you have hidden these things from the wise and the learned, you have revealed them to the childlike’.” Lk 10.21

Oratio: "O God, You desire all to know You and made it especially easy for the ordinary person.

I remember Jesus gave You praise for revealing the kingdom and how to enter it to the childlike and in His prayer of praise, He revealed the wonderful truth of the Trinity,
Grant that I may always be grateful for the gift of faith which allows me to accept the Scriptures and the teachings of the Catholic Faith.

I ask this of You, who lives and reigns with Jesus and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever.

Operatio: Reflect on “childlike” - a disposition; a openness to truth; a state of humility; trusting; Pray to be childlike when it comes to matters of faith trusting that the gift God gives me will sustain me.

Meditatio: “He [Jesus] said to him [centurion], ‘I will come and cure him’.” Mt 8.7

Oratio: "O God, what great works Your Son did so that we would believe in Him.

I remember He cured a centurion’s servant from a distance by His word alone because of the humility and faith of the centurion, who was a Gentile - how magnificent and powerful a deed of Jesus.

Grant that I may always entreat You with humility and hope in my prayers and allow You to do what You know is best.

I ask this of You, who lives and reigns with Jesus and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever.
Amen.”

Contemplatio: Keep silence and remain in recollection for a few minutes.

Operatio: Reflect on “miracles” - beyond the power of a human being; something very much out of the ordinary; an divine act often done because of faith or to elicit faith. Resolve to pray with confidence and humility for what I or others need and with trust in God’s providence that He will do what is best.

Meditatio: “Be watchful! Be alert! You do not know when the time will come.” Mk 13.33

Oratio: "O God, You know how easily we get forget our ultimate goal in life -You.

I remember Jesus told His listeners to pay attention to what they are doing for they do not know when the end will come and He wants us to be found doing what we ought when He does come.

Grant that I may be attentive to who and to what is shaping my life and allow only God to be my Potter and what He wants to mold of me as clay in His hands.

I ask this of You, who lives and reigns with Jesus and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever.
Amen.”

Operatio: Reflect on “Be alert!” - attentive; with great care to what I am doing; for the end of life for me; for the entire world; Resolve to pray for the grace to be watchful of who and what is shaping my life and only allow myself to be molded by God- centered people.

Lectio: Lk 21.34-36

Meditatio: “Beware that your hearts to not become drowsy from carousing and drunkenness and the anxieties of daily life, and that day catch you by surprise.” Lk 21.34

Oratio: "O God, You know we are easily distracted from what this life is all about.

I remember Jesus exhorted His followers to be vigilant as to the end of time so that the end will not catch them off guard.
Grant that I may have the grace to always do Your will and the end of time for me will not catch me by surprise for You do not want it to be a surprise for me either.

I ask this of You, who lives and reigns with Jesus and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever.
Amen.”

Contemplatio: Keep silence and remain in recollection for a few minutes.

Operatio: Reflect on “drowsy heart” - loss of focus; deeply distracted by daily anxieties - the antidote - be vigilant by doing what God wants as my first priority. Resolve to reflect at the end of each day, my focus for that day and if it was not Christ-focused to pray for the grace to focus rightly for the coming day.

Lk 21.29-33

"Amen, I day to you, this generation will not pass away until all these things have taken place.” Lk 21.32

"O God, You speak to us in many ways and especially through Scripture, but we do not always comprehend.

I remember Jesus spoke about the great tribulations and His coming on a cloud and all happening during the generation of the people to whom He was speaking -but He has not yet come - or has He?

Grant that when I hear Your words that I do not understand, to set aside my difficulties until I do understand them for Your words are truth and life.

I ask this through Our Lord Jesus Christ, Your Son, who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit one God, for ever and ever. Amen

Operatio: Reflect on “interpretation” - plain meaning, symbolic meaning; consistent with the whole of Scripture. In prayer ask for the grace of understanding and patience with regards to difficult texts and the Holy Spirit will enlighten and guide me and one day I will I understand.
