Lectio - Mt 13.44-46
Meditatio: “The kingdom of heaven is like a treasure buried in a field, which a person finds and buries again, and ou of joy he goes and sells all tha he has and buys that field.”
Mt 13.44
Oratio: "O God, Your offer us so much for so little on our part.
I remember Jesus promised Your kingdom to those who heed his words to love one another - what a treasure for so little payment on our part.
Grant that I may do my part to attain this great treasure, a pearl of duvh great price- my home with You in heaven.
I ask this of You, who lives and reigns with Jesus and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever. Amen.”
Contemplatio: Keep silence and remain in recollection for a few minutes.
Operatio: Today, I will reflect to see if my love for others needs adjustment so that it has one focus uppermost in view- the treasure - the pearl of great price - You.

- I was ordained for the Archdiocese of Philadelphia on May 15, 1993. I am a widower with 8 children and 24 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. On July 1, 2014 I began my residence at St Mathew Parish in Philadelphia, PA. My last assignment was pastor of St.Elizabeth Ann Seton in Bensalem, PA since November of 1999. I have created this Blog in response to Pope Benedict XVI's recommendation that Priest use modern means of communications to reach out to people with the Good News. I publish daily my Lectio Divina efforts via a group email. I will publish such efforts from time to time to this site as well as other pertinent info about the Good News of Jesus Christ or issues which are contrary to the Good News. What is Lectio Divina? Lectio Divina is the Study of and Meditation on Sacred Scripture. The steps include: Reading (Lectio),- Pondering (Meditatio); Praying (Oratio) and Silence(Contemplatio). I use the daily Lectionary as the source of readings.
