11.24.14

Lectio:  Lk21.5-11

Meditatio: “Then they asked him, ‘Teacher, when will this happen?’...There will be powerful earthquakes, famines, and plague from place to place, and awesome sights and mighty signs will come from the sky.” Lk 21.7a, 11

O God, we know that time as we know it will end.

I remember Your Son told the people that the world will end and He cautioned them not to believe those who claim to know. Rather there  will be great signs when it is about to take place. In other words the end will not catch us off guard. In prayer pray for the coming of Christ for that means God’s kingdom will be finally established and life will be as it ought to be and not as it is now.

I ask this and all things in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with You
and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever.

Contemplatio: spend some time in silence and meditate on the selected passage and hear what
God is saying to you.

Operatio: reflect: "when....earthquakes...awesome sight..sky “; the end of time will be preceded by awesome sights and signs so we should not listen to those who predict the end of time. Rather we should seek the grace to live as though the end were today and we will be ready whenever if occurs even if it is simply for us the end of our own lifetime.

Tomorrow's reading: Lk21.12-19
