6.01.15

Lectio:  Mk 12.13-17

Meditatio: So Jesus said, ‘Repay to Caesar what belongs to Caesar and to God what

 belongs to God.” Mk 12.17

Oratio: O God,  Your Son, did not come to sow division between the Civil Authorities and religious practice.

I remember when He was asked about paying taxes, Jesus replied by saying we should pay them. In prayer seek to fulfill not only your religious duties but your civil ones as well for the is Jesus’s will.
.

I ask this and all things in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with You
and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever.

Contemplatio: spend some time in silence and meditate on the selected passage and hear what God is saying to you.

Operatio: reflect: “repay...Caesar...and to God.”; as believers we are to fulfill all civil law that is just.  Seek the grace to be a good citizen as well as a good believer.

Tomorrow's reading:Mk 12.18-27
