Lectio -Jn 18.1-19.42
Meditatio: “Standing by the cross of Jesus were his mother, his mother’s sister, Mary, the wife of Clopas, and Mary of Magdala.” Jn 19.25
Oratio: "O God, the weak in our eyes are often the strong in your eyes.
I remember it was three women who stood by your Son’s cross -‘his mother, his mother’s sister, Mary, the wife of Clopas, and Mary of Magdala.’ Women in those days were considered so weak and unreliable that their testimony was not accepted in court - but they were the one’s who had the courage and strength to stand by your Son in the hour of his greatest need.
Grant that I may not judge others by worldly standards but by yours and hold all in great esteem for all are made in Your image.
I ask this of You, who lives and reigns with Jesus and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever. Amen.”
Contemplatio: Keep silence and remain in recollection for a few minutes.
Operatio: Today, I will treat all I meet with respect - strangers as well as friends.
