8.06.14

Lectio:  Mt 16.13-23

Meditatio: "He [Jesus] said to them, ‘But whom do you say that I am?’ Simon Peter said in reply, “You are the Messiah, the Son of the living God’.” Mt 16.15,16
Oratio: O God, the identity of Your Son was not left to speculation.

I remember Your Son questioned His disciples as to His identity and Peter responded with the right answer, an answer revealed to him by You. He indeed is our Messiah and Your Son. In prayer I thank You for making it crystal clear that the Miracle Man of Galilee is so much more and even  wonderfully our brother through Baptism. May I always act in a way that makes You proud of me, Your child.

Contemplatio: spend some time in silence and meditate on the selected passage and hear what
God is saying to you.

Operatio: reflect: "whom...I am?”; Peter answered: “the Messiah’; Seek the grace of a grateful heart and rejoice in Jesus Who not only is our Lord and Savior but our brother, too. Pray to live as a sibling of Jesus in such a way that He will be proud of us and others will come to know Him by the way we act.

Tomorrow's reading: Mt 16.24-28
