8.11.14
Lectio: Mt 18.1-5, 10, 12-14
Meditatio: "Whoever humbles himself like this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven.”
Mt 18,4
Oratio: O God, Your ways are not our ways but they are so much more wise and glorious.
I remember Your Son told His disciple that to be the greatest in the kingdom they must be like a child - that is totally dependent and with no claim of any rights. Humility and not pride of place determines one’s status with God. In prayer seek the grace to have a meek and humble heart for that is what is most pleading to our God!
Contemplatio: spend some time in silence and meditate on the selected passage and hear what
God is saying to you.
Operatio: reflect "like...child...greatest”; a child has no rights and is completely dependent on others; this is the essence of a humility. May we also have a heart of a child and a an openness to the wonders of God and His creation as that will be most pleasing to Him and it will go well for us.
Tomorrow's reading: Mt 18.15-20
