Lectio: Mt 14.22-33
Meditatio: "During the fourth watch of the night, he [Jesus] came toward them, walking on the sea. When the disciples saw him walking on the sea they were terrified, ‘It is a ghost,’ they cried out in fear.” Mt 14.25,26
Oratio: O God, Your powers are also Your Son’s powers because You and He are one in nature.
I remember Jesus walked on water during the fourth watch of the night (3 AM to 6 AM), a feat that is humanly impossible; and at the end of this incident the disciples realized that Jesus was not only the Son o f Man, but the Son of God. Seek time for prayer as Jesus did and then allow yourself in the silence of your prayer time to experience God and you will!
Contemplatio: spend some time in silence and meditate on the selected passage and hear what
God is saying to you.
Operatio: reflect "Jesus...walking...sea"; by walking on the sea Jesus showed clearly who He is - God. In prayer seek the grace to look for God in the unexpected and in the silent moments of life and you will find Him for He is always there for us, watching over us with loving care. Out of gratitude give those whose lives you touch a shepherd’s care as that will be most pleasing to Him.
