Lectio 2.12.12

Lectio: Jas1.1-11

Meditatio: “But he should ask in faith, not doubting, for the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea that is driven and tossed by the wind.” Jas 1.6

Oratio: ""O God, You know that at times our faith is weak but that does not change Your love and concern for us.

I remember James compared doubting to a wave of the sea ‘driven and tossed by the wind.’
Grant that when I have doubts about faith, to remember the best way to resolve the doubt, is to say a simple prayer, ‘Lord, I believe, help my unbelief;’ and the like the wave of the sea if you stop focusing on it, it will go away.

I ask this of You, who lives and reigns with Jesus and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever.
Amen.”

Contemplatio: Keep silence and remain in recollection for a few minutes.

Operatio: Operatio : Reflect on "faith”; a confident hope in what is not seen, will be; hope in God; hope in eternal life; hope in Divine Providence;
in prayer ask for the grace to have a strong faith and when doubts arise, to pray through any doubts that arise.

Tomorrow's readings: Jas 1.12-18
