10.27.14

Lectio: : Lk 6.12-16

Meditatio: "In those days he departed to the mountain to pray, and he spent the whole night in prayer to God.”Lk 6.12

Oratio: O God, You so much want us to talk with You and Your Son gave us the example.
I remember in the Gospel of Luke He is often depicted at prayer and not for a few minutes but for the whole night. Seek the grace to pray always and do it by saying every day the Morning Offering.

I ask this and all things in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with You
and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever.

Contemplatio: spend some time in silence and meditated  on the selected passage and hear what
God is saying to you.

Operatio: reflect: "departed....pray”; Jesus is portrayed as praying before major events such as selecting the apostles. If Jesus had the felt need to pray, how much more do we need to pray. Seek to lift up your hearts and minds to God periodically throughout the day but especially upon arising and going to bed for God so much wants us to be in contact with Him.                              .

Tomorrow's reading: Lk 13.22-30
