5/03/13:

Jn 15.18-21

Meditatio: “If the world hates you, realize it hated me first.” Jn 15.18

Oratio: "O God, You know that if we are forewarned, we will be prepared.
.
I remember You Son told us we will be hated because He was hated - but don ‘t be discouraged for is a sign we have been called by You.

Grant that I may respond to hatred with love for that is Your way and love will ultimately overcome all.

I ask these and all things through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with the  Father and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever.

Contemplatio: Keep silence and remain in recollection for a few minutes.

Reflect:  "World... hates you”; secularism and religious are at times in conflict; presently the institution of marriage is under attack by the secularist who see marriage with only one primary purpose - the good of the couple and not a dual purpose - the good of children. In prayer thank God for loving all of us so even those who on the surface do not love Him or even deny Him for we all His children and He will never abandon us nor stop loving us.

Tomorrow's reading:  Jn 14.23-29
