5/18/13 Jn 14.15-16, 23b-26
Meditatio: “If you love me, you will keep my commandments.” Jn 14.15
Oratio: "O God, Your ways are impossible for us to know and capture completely - but You give us enough for our salvation.
O God, You have identified clearly what You want of us - You want our love.
I remember Your Son told His disciples at the Last Sipper that keeping His commandments is way we show our love.
Grant that I may ever give my will to You as it is in the will that love abides and thrives.
I ask these and all things through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with the Father and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever.
Contemplatio: Keep silence and remain in recollection for a few minutes.
Operatio: "reflect "keep ...commandments"; Jesus teachings are summed up in the great law of love. Doing the will of another is at the center of love; in prayer ask for the grace to love God above all and others as myself, so that I truly love Jesus as He wishes
