5/21/13  Mk 9.38-40

Meditatio: “For whoever is not against us is for us.” Mk 9.40

Oratio:  "O God, You know how easy it is for us to be jealous; but that is not Your way.

I remember Your Son warned His disciples against exclusiveness.

Grant that I may embrace all who strive to serve You or Your Son even though they do not adhere entirely to our ways.

I ask these and all things through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with the  Father and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever.

Contemplatio: Keep silence and remain in recollection for a few minutes.

Operatio: reflect “against...for”; indirect way of determining allies; separateness is not the answer; in prayer seek the grace to be open to others who strive to serve You or Your Son even though they are not part of our faith community.

Tomorrow's reading: Mk 9.41-50
