3.05.14

Lectio:
Lk 9.22-25

Meditatio: ”What profit is there for one to gain the whole world yet lose or forfeit himself?” Lk 9.25

Oratio: O God, You want us to seek the real good and not the apparent good.

I remember Jesus reminded His listeners about earthly gains which winds up costing us our immortal soul.

Grant that I may use this Lent, which begins today, wisely and reflect on my daily actions and to the extent they are harmful to my spiritual well being desist from them no matter how important they are to my present well-being.

I ask this and all things in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with You
and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever.

Contemplatio: spend some time in silence and meditate on the selected passage and hear what.
God is saying to you

Operatio: reflect"what profit...lose ...himself”; earthly success at the cost of spiritual degradation is foolish; in prayer seek the grace to reflect on my actions and reform those areas of my life which are not in accord with Gospel values - so that I may not forfeit eternal life by my actions but obtain it through the grace of God.

Tomorrow' s reading: Mt 9.14-15
