3.14.14

Lectio: Mt 5.43-48

Meditatio: "So be perfect, just as your heavenly Father is perfect.” Mt 5.48
Oratio: O God, at times what Your Son asks of seems virtually impossible for us to do.

I remember that He told us to be perfect as You are perfect - and we know we can’t! But then  we realize He was speaking about our treatment of others and He simply wants us to treat all with mercy - that is with compassionate love - for that is how You treat us.

Grant that I may be ‘perfect’ as You are perfect and show it my relationship with others in which “love” will be my guiding principle; and You will be pleased.

I ask this and all things in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with You
and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever.

Contemplatio: spend some time in silence and meditate on the selected passage and hear what.
God is saying to you

Operatio: "be perfect”; perfection of God in one sense is impossible but in another sense it is very possible for with His grace we can love our enemies and we can be merciful towards all. In prayer seek the grace to be ‘perfect’ in our treatment of others and God will be pleased with us as His children!

Tomorrow's reading: Mt 17.1-9
