Lectio: Mt 17.1-9
Meditatio: "While he [Peter] was still speaking, behold, a bright cloud cast a shadow over them, then from the cloud came a voice that said, ‘This is my beloved Son, with whom I am well pleased; listen to him’.” Mt 17. 5
Oratio: O God, You knew the disciples had to be strengthened because of the scandal of the cross.
I remember that You gave three of His disciples a vision of Moses and Elijah appearing with Jesus and speaking with Him and then to make it crystal clear You spoke and declared that He was Your Son. What a clear revelation! What a strong support for them when the crucifixion of Your Son occurs.
Grant that I may be ever rejoice in knowing that Jesus is truly the Son of God and that He was sent so that all could have eternal life with You in heaven.
I ask this and all things in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with You
and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever.
Contemplatio: spend some time in silence and meditate on the selected passage and hear what.
God is saying to you
Operatio: "my...Son...listen”; At Jesus transfiguration, His Father clearly revealed His identity to Peter, James and John so that they would be strengthened when confusion would arise when Jesus was crucified. In prayer seek the grace to always listen to Jesus whose words and directions are proclaimed for us today by the Church and strive to always ask ourselves before acting: ‘What would Jesus do?’and then do it. And we will be blest by our heavenly Father for living as true children of His.
