3.11.14
Lectio: Lk 11.29-32
Meditatio: ”While still more people gathered in the crowd, he [Jesus] said to them, ‘This generation demands a sign, but no sign will be given it, except the sign of Jonah’.” Lk 11.29
Oratio: O God, Jonah preached throughout Nineveh a call to repent and the people did.
I remember Jesus did the same when He came and spoke with authority and called the people to reform their lives for the kingdom of God was at hand; and many did not listen - how tragic!
Grant that I may remember Jesus gave us the sign of His authority by His words and then backed it up with miracles and His resurrection; in prayer seek the grace to accept the words of Jesus and repent so that the kingdom of God will take place.
I ask this and all things in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with You
and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever.
Contemplatio: spend some time in silence and meditate on the selected passage and hear what.
God is saying to you
Operatio: reflect"no sign...except...Jonah”; Jesus taught with great authority and backed it up with miraculous deeds and still people wanted a sign; how dense! How sad! In prayer seek the grace of gratitude for Jesus’ coming and calling us back to the Father; and giving us the way - repentance; and then for the grace to repent for our good and for the good of those whose lives we touch.
