9.09.14

Lectio:  Lk 6.20-26

Meditatio: “And raising his eyes toward his disciples he said: ‘Blessed are you who are poor for the kingdom of God is yours.” Lk 6.20

Oratio: O God, You are so mindful and caring about those who are struggling in this life.

I remember You Son proclaimed ‘Blessed’ those who were deprived of the blessings of this life in His beautiful and thought provoking Sermon on the Plain which He began with the Beatitudes. In prayer seek   to live in accord with the Beatitudes by having the right attitude toward wealth and struggles in life and you will be blest.

Contemplatio: spend some time in silence and meditate on the selected passage and hear what
 God is saying to you.

Operatio: reflect: "Blessed...poor...kingdom”; who would have thought that the poor are ‘Blessed’? No one. But Jesus declared they are not because those who are in poor straits; but because the poor  more readily turn to God in their plight’ and those who do, find lasting riches.

Tomorrow's reading: Lk 6.27-38
