9/02/14

Lectio: Lk 4. 38-44

Meditatio: "At day break, Jesus left and went to a deserted place.” Lk 4.42a

Oratio: O God, You know the importance of being alone with You so that we can give You our undivided attention.

I remember Jesus after working many miracles at Capernaum, went off by Himself to a deserted place and we know He would do so periodically so as to be alone with You. In prayer seek the grace of a proper prayerful attitude knowing that whenever possible, a quiet place is most desirable.

Contemplatio: spend some time in silence and meditate on the selected passage and hear what
God is saying to you.

Operatio:  reflect: “Jesus...went....deserted place”; Jesus showed us the importance of a quiet place to commune with God. May we be given the grace to seek such places whenever it is reasonably possible so that we can give God our undivided attention to a God who is always mindful of us.

Tomorrow's reading: Lk 5.1-11
