Lectio: Jn 1.43-51
Meditatio: "Nathaniel said to him [Jesus], ‘How do you know me?’ Jesus said, ‘Before Philip called you, I saw you under the fig tree’." Jn 1.48

Oratio: "O God, You offer us grace upon grace so that we will be opened to Your will and do it.

I remember Nathaniel walked in Your ways before Jesus called him for he was a man of peace.
Grant that I may always be a peaceful person who brings Your peace to unsettling situations.
I ask these and all things through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with the

Father and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever.

Contemplatio: Keep silence and remain in recollection for a few minutes.

Operatio: reflect on "fig tree"; a symbol of Messianic peace; the peace of Christ; the greatest peace; God’s peace; in prayer thank God for the many examples of peaceful persons so that we may learn how to be an instrument of Your peace and then be a source of peace to others.

Tomorrow's reading: Mt 2.1-13
