6/04/13:  Mk 12.18-27

Meditatio: “When they rise from the dead, they neither marry nor are given in marriage, but they are like angels in heaven.” Mk 12. 25

Oratio: “O God, You have wonderfully provided for us in this life with the institution of marriage for the good of the couple and for the good of children.

I remember that Jesus declared that in heaven marriage is no longer but that You have provided for our good for we will live on like angels who are pure spirit and who have pure love beyond our comprehension!

Grant that I may always revere the sacredness of marriage in the here and the now and look  forward ot the gift of angelic love in the next.

I ask these and all things through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with the  Father and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever.

Contemplatio: Keep silence and remain in recollection for a few minutes.

Operatio: reflect on "rise... neither marry;” marriage is an earthly institution, perfect love makes it a joy; in heaven we will enjoy perfect love for we will love as angels do; in prayer thank our God for so wonderfully providing for us now and forever and strive to love others in this life for their good and not for what we get out of is for therein lies selfless love.

Tomorrow's reading: Mk 12.28-34
