Lectio: Jn 20.1-9
Meditatio: “Then th either disciple also went in, the one who arrived at the tomb first, and he saw and believed.“ Jn 208
Oratio: O God, how wonderful is the gift of faith!
I remember that first Easter morning, that John and Peter both ran to the tomb when they were told that Jesus’s body was not there and John, arrived first, looked in and so the burial cloths but allowed Peter to enter first and then he wen in and John recognized Jesus had risen based on the burial cloths. What a grace to recognize Jesus in such mundane items. Pray for the grace to recognize Jesus in the myriad ways He is present in this world and especially in the other.
I ask this and all things in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with You
and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever.
Contemplatio: spend some time in silence and meditate on the selected passage and hear what God is saying.
Operatio: reflect, "disciple...saw...believed”; John recognized Jesus had risen based on seeing His burial cloths..Seek the grace to recognize no matter what disguises He assumes, for He is often present in the unreasonable, the irritable and the demanding according to Mother Teresa of Calcutta and you will be greatly blest by your encounter.
Tomorrow's reading: Lk 23.13-35
