Lectio: Jn 6.16-31
Meditatio: "When they had rowed about three to four miles, they saw Jesus walking on the sea and coming near the boat, and they began to be afraid. But he said to them, ‘It is I. Do not be afraid’.”
Jn 6.19-20
Oratio: O God, what a toller coaster it must have been for the first disciples.
I remember that as they rowed across the lake, Jesus came to them walking on the water. This was right after He multiplied the loaves and fishes. Instead of joy, they were afraid; but Jesus then calmed their fears. Pray that when Jesus appears to us that we may recognize Him as Mother Teresa of Calcutta did; and we will be greatly blest by the encounter.
I ask this and all things in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with You
and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever.
Contemplatio: spend some time in silence and meditate on the selected passage and hear what God is saying.
Operatio: reflect:"Jesus walking....sea...afraid....Do .not...afraid”; Jesus walked on the water and came near to where the disciples where and they greatly feared at seeing Him. He immediately calmed their fears. Seek the grace to be aware of the presence of Jesus in the lonely, the outcast, the sick; and be open to Him and minister to Him for what you do for the least of them, you do for Him.
