4.18.15

 Lectio:   Lk 24.35-48

Meditatio: "While they were still incredulous for joy and were amazed, he asked them, ‘Have you anything here to eat’?” Lk 24.41

Oratio: O God, what a scene when Your Son appeared to His disciples in the upper room that first Easter Sunday!

I remember that not only did He greet then with ‘Peace’ but also showed them His wounds and ate a piece of fish to show that He was not a ghost or vision. And they were amazed. In prayer remember the hour when Jesus died for us so that we would have the fruit of His death and resurrection and rejoice!

I ask this and all things in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with You
and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever.

Contemplatio: spend some time in silence and meditate on the selected passage and hear what God is saying.

Operatio:  reflect:"incredulous...joy....amazed...anything...eat;” Jesus appeared to His disciples that first Easter and showed them His wounds and ate a piece of baked fish - all to show that He was truly alive. Seek the grace to recognize Jesus alive and present in the other especially in the poor, the sick and the outcast and recognize Him in the breaking of the bread for He has graciously allowed us to see Him even now.

 Tomorrow's reading: Jn 6.22-29
