Lectio - Mk 6.14-29

Meditatio: "She went out and said to her mother, ‘What shall I ask for?’ She replied, ‘The head of John the Baptist’.” Mk 6.24

Oratio: "O God, you alone have the right to take away the gift of life. I remember King Herod, based on faulty thinking, acceded to the request of his step-daughter and had John the Baptist beheaded. Grant that I ma always have my passions under control so that I may serve you rightly. I ask this of you, who lives and reigns with Jesus and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever. Amen.”

Contemplatio – Keep silence and remain in recollection for a few minutes.
