Lk 2:22-40

Meditatio: ”When the days were completed for their purification according to the law of Moses, they took him up to Jerusalem to present him to The Lord. Lk 2:22

Oratio: O God you showed us through the parents of Your Son very good example.

I remember they took Jesus up to the Temple as a child to be consecrated to The Lord for that was required by their religion.

Grant us the grace to adhere to the laws of our religion which begins with baptism through which we are consecrated as a child of God and called to be a prophet of the Good News,

Contemplatio: spend some time in silence and meditate on the selected passage and hear what.
God is saying to you

Operatio: reflect:  "purification...law of Moses"; a rite of Judaism that not only applied to the child but also to the mother under their Holiness Code.  Our baptism plays the same role for our new bournes  and our churching  practice. The latter has now been replaced with a special blessing for mom and her baby as part of the conclusion of the Baptismal Rite. In prayer seek the grace to conform to church law as the Holy Family did and our lives will be pleasing to our God.
