2.24.14

Lectio:   Mk 9.30-37

Meditatio: ”But they did not understand the saying, and they were afraid to question him.” Mk 9.32

Oratio: O God, How dense we can be at times!

I remember Jesus told His disciples that He was going to handed over, killed and that He would rise. He spoke plainly, but they did not understand Him.

Grant that I may have the grace to accept the things that are too wonderful for me to reason to, for they are Your gifts to me and for my eternal good.

I ask this and all things in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with You
and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever.

Contemplatio: spend some time in silence and meditate on the selected passage and hear what.
God is saying to you

Operatio: reflect"afraid..question Him”; why would His disciples be afraid to question Jesus? Was it true fear or was it that His prediction of His passion and death did not fit their picture of Him and the personal glory they were seeking? In prayer thank Jesus was willingly undergoing His passion and death so that we might live; and out of gratitude live the life He calls us to.

Tomorrow' s reading: Mk 9.38-40
