9.11.12
Lectio: 1 Cor 7.25-31
Meditatio: "So this is what I think best because of the present distress, that it is good for a person to remain as he is.” 1 Cor 7.26
Oratio: " O God, You want us to be at ease as we journey back to You.
I remember Paul told the Corinthians to remain as he is during times of stress and theirs was the stress of what Paul thought was the impending Parousia.
Grant that I in time of tragedy such as 911 or in time of sorrow or sickness or impending death that I may remain calm knowing that You are watching over me with loving care.
I ask these and all things through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with the Father and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever.
Contemplatio: Keep silence and remain in recollection for a few minutes.
Operatio: Reflect on "remains as is”; calm, accepting; in prayer thank God for loving us so and ask for the grace to be trusting and calm during crises for that is how You want us to be.
Tomorrow's reading: 1 Cor 8.1b-7, 11-13
