9.22.12
Lectio: Wis 2.12,17-20
Meditatio: "for if the just one be the son of God, he will defend him and deliver him from his foes.” Wis 2.18
Oratio: " O God, You continually warn us through Your prophets of the perils to our salvation - but we often ignore them.
I remember the author of the Book of Wisdom 100 years before Christ predicted the mind set of those who would condemn Christ to death - He has saved others; Let us see if He will save Himself.
Grant that I may never put God to the test for He has shown throughout the ages that He is kind and merciful and that He loves us as His very own.
I ask these and all things through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with the Father and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever.
Contemplatio: Keep silence and remain in recollection for a few minutes.
Operatio: Reflect on "deliver:” to save; in prayer thank God for delivering Jesus by giving Him victory over death; and thank Jesus for giving us a share in His victory over death for we are powerless against the foe of death but we become victorious in His name.
Tomorrow's reading: Prv 3.27-34
