9.19.12
Lectio: 1 Cor 15.1-11
Meditatio: "After that, he (Jesus) appeared to me the five hundred brothers at once, most of whom are still living, though some have fallen asleep." 1 Cor 15.1-11
Oratio: " O God, the resurrection of Your Son is the core of our faith, and our faith is in vain in Your Son did not rise from the dead.
I remember not only did Jesus appear to the closest of His disciples, but He also appeared to 500 at one time so that there would be overwhelming evidence of His resurrection.
Grant that I may be ever grateful to Christ for giving us a share in His victory over death.
I ask these and all things through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with the Father and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever.
Contemplatio: Keep silence and remain in recollection for a few minutes.
Operatio: Reflect on "appeared," seen, made visible, in prayer thank God for giving us a share in His Son's resurrection; and for the grace to live as redeemed people with joy and love, and with well founded hope in future life.
Tomorrow's reading: Eph 4.1-7, 11-13
