9.14.12 Lectio: 1 Cor 10.14-22 Meditatio: "the cup of blessing that we bless, is it not a participation in the blood of Christ? The bread that we break, is it not a participation in the body of Christ?” 1 Cor 10.16 Oratio: " O God, You know how difficult it is for us to accept divine mysteries and so You reveal them to us. I remember Paul wrote and confirmed for the Corinthinians and for us that the blessing cup and the bread they share is in fact Your Son’s body and blood - how awesome! How wonderful for us to have the real presence of Jesus in the Eucharist so clearly confirmed! Grant that I may be always grateful to You, O God, for so wonderfully responding to the faith needs of our humanity. I ask these and all things through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with the Father and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever. Contemplatio: Keep silence and remain in recollection for a few minutes. Operatio: Reflect on "participation”; joining in, entering in; being a part of; in prayer thank Jesus for giving us His very self in the Eucharist and seek the grace to always receive It worthily so I may be a blessing for those whose lives I touch. Tomorrow's reading: Is 50.5-9a
