9.13.12 Lectio: Nm 21.4b-9 Meditatio: "and the Lord said to Moses, ‘make a saraph and mount it on a pole, and if anyone has been bitten, looks at it, he will recover’.” Nm 21.8ngs are and through whom we exist.” 1 Cor 8.6 Oratio: " O God, Your actions oft address not only the present but the future as well. I remember You had Moses fashion a bronze serpent and mount it on a pole as a source of healing for those Israelites who were bitten by a poisonous snake and it would also be a sign for the future as to how You would save us from our sins by allowing Your only Son to be lifted up on the cross for us. Grant that I may always gaze on the crucifix with a humble and contrite heart and grateful heart and show my gratitude by living a life of selfless love. I ask these and all things through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with the Father and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever. Contemplatio: Keep silence and remain in recollection for a few minutes. Operatio: Reflect on "recover”; heal - for the Israelites in the desert journey a physical healing; for all of us on our journey to the Father, a spiritual healing; in prayer thank Jesus for humbling himself for our salvation and may I always lift high the cross by the life I live so that others may come to be healed of their sins and be brought to salivation through it. Tomorrow's reading: 1 Cor 10.14-22
