9.21.12
Lectio: 1 Cor 15.33-37,42-49
Meditatio: "just as we have borne the image of the earthly one, we shall also bear the image of the heavenly one.” 1 Cor 15.49
Oratio: " O God, You have wonderfully made us and You have wonderfully provided for our future after this life.
I remember Paul declared to the Corinthinians that when we die, we shall receive a glorified body, incorruptible, and having the image of Your Son - how stupendous! How much beyond anything we deserve or could know with Your revealing it to us!
Grant that I may live now as Your child, which I became at my baptism, so that my life may reflect my gratitude for all You have done and all You will do for us.
I ask these and all things through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with the Father and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever.
Contemplatio: Keep silence and remain in recollection for a few minutes.
Operatio: Reflect on "image of the heavenly one:” image of God’s Son; image of Christ, image of a child of God; in prayer thank God for providing such a great and wonderful future for us and for the grace to live now as a child of God by conforming my life to the Great Law of Love, for God is love and we best image God in how we love.
