4.08.14

 4/08/14

Lectio:   Jn 8.31-42
Meditatio: "Jesus then said to those Jews who believed in him, ‘If you remain in my word, you will truly be my disciples.”  Jn 8.31

Oratio: "O God, You gave us the way to eternal life through Your Son.

I remember Jesus declared to those who believed in Him the importance of keeping His word for His words are truth and lead to eternal life. Grant me the grace of an ardent faith.

I  ask this and all things in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with You
and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever.

Contemplatio: spend some time in silence and meditate on the selected passage and hear what.
God is saying to you

Operatio: “who believed....remain...my word”: Jesus made it clear that believing is more than assenting to His revelation.  He made it clear that we must put His words into action if we wish to be His followers. In prayer seek the grace of an active faith, one in which we are good stewards of His gifts and which we use for the good of others in His name - in short to love others as He loves us.

Tomorrow's reading: Jn 8.51-59
