Lectio: Mt 13.54-58                                                    

Meditatio: “And he [Jesus] did not work many mighty deeds there because of their lack of faith.” Mt 13.58

Oratio: "O God, how disappointed You must be when Your Son is rejected!

I remember when He began His public ministry in His hometown, they were impressed by His wisdom and mighty deeds done elsewhere, but they took offense at Him because they thought they knew His origins. May I never take for granted nor downplay the Word of God.   

I ask this and all things in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with You
and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever.

Contemplatio: spend some time in silence and meditate on the selected passage and hear what.
God is saying to you

Operatio: “did...not work...because .... faith”; faith in Jesus is so important if we are to have the benefit of His coming to us as one of us. Seek the grace to  never forget who Jesus is and listen to His words for they are the source of eternal life for us and we are greatly blest by His coming.
