4.15.14

Lectio:    Mt 26.14-25

Meditatio: "And while they were eating, he [Jesus] said, ‘Amen, I say to you, one of you will betray me’.” Jn 26.21

Oratio: "O God, how tragic that one of Your Son’s closest followers, one who shared food with Him, would betray Him.

I remember Judas, who shared the Passover Meal with Jesus as one of His closest friend and followers, betrayed Jesus. Pray that the Tempter may not gain entrance to my heart and that I die rather than betray Jesus, whom I should love above all, even above myself.

I  ask this and all things in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with You
and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever.

Contemplatio: spend some time in silence and meditate on the selected passage and hear what.
God is saying to you

Operatio: “while...eating..one...betray”; betrayal comes from all sources; but the most disheartened betrayal comes from those who are close and share food with us. In prayer seek a strong faith to remain faithful to Jesus and the Gospel; for He is my life, my love, my strong support, my All. Seek His grace to remain faithful for without His grace we, too, in times of weakness will betray Him by our actions.

Tomorrow's reading: Lk 4.16-21
